Filming winter tourism in the Sierra Nevada mountains…
Director, Leif Ramsey, spent a week around Tahoe directing a new winter tourism commercial. 🎥 🏔️ ⛷️ Leif says it was his first time on skis in about 10 years, but he still managed to hang with the athletes on the slope for 2 days. What a blast.
DP, Chris Stiles, was in heaven filming sports shots in the snow and got some amazing frames.
The production included skiing and snowboarding at Kirkwood Mountain, snowmobiling, snow shoeing, and capturing some absolute natural beauty during sunrise sessions on the shores of Tahoe. We also got to feature a really cool dining at Gar Woods and boutique accommodations at Desolation Cabins in Hope Valley.

Truth: Mountains drenched in sunshine look better on an anamorphic lens. We filmed party laps with Kirkwood Mountain’s athletes on the bowl below Thimble Peak. Kirkwood is a local’s best kept secret, perfect for advanced skiers.
